
Gerben Bakker is an economic historian specialized in the long-run analysis of innovation within firms and industries. He has completed four award-winning research programs on the history of the live entertainment, motion picture and music industries and on the trade in news. He is currently working on the long-run evolution of firms’ research and development outlays and on the role of particular industries in aggregate economic growth. His research interests include the historical analysis of the interaction between markets, industries, firms and strategies and their impact on economic growth and development.

Dr Elsamari Botha is the MBA Director at the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, and teaches Digital Transformation and Technology Preparedness in the UC MBA programme. She is also an extraordinary associate professor at the University of Stellenbosch Business School, South Africa. She attained her PhD in Industrial Economics and Management at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden. With 15 years of consulting experience, as well as starting an EdTech platform, Elsamari’s research focuses on the adoption and monetization of new technologies in organisations, online consumer behaviour, and digital strategy development. Elsamari has published in leading international journals such as Industrial Marketing Management, Journal of Business Research, Business Horizons, the Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, and Public Relations Review. Her research interests include digitalization of business models and value propositions, digital transformation, digital strategy development and online consumer behaviour.

Jose Ramon Saura is Associate Professor (Tenured Pro.) of Digital Marketing in the Business Economics Department at Rey Juan Carlos University, Madrid (Spain). Previously, he held positions and made consultancy at several companies including Google, L'Oréal, Deloitte, Telefónica, or MRM//McCann (2011-2015), among others. His research has focused on the theoretical and practical insights of various aspects of User Generated Content (UGC), with a specific focus around three major research approaches applied social sciences: user privacy, knowledge discovery and information sciences. His research has appeared in leading international business, marketing and information sciences journals such as: Journal of Innovation and Knowledge, International Journal of Information Management, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Small Business Management, Journal of Business & Industrial Marketing, Big Data Research, European Research on Management and Business Economics, among others.
Gregor Matvos is a Howard Berolzheimer Chair in Finance at the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. He is a Research Associate in the Corporate Finance group at the National Bureau of Economic Research, serves as an Editor of Review of Corporate Financial Studies, and as an Associate Editor at The Journal of Finance. Matvos is interested in issues related financial intermediation, household finance, and corporate finance. His papers in these areas have been published in several journals, including the American Economic Review, the Journal of Political Economy, the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Financial Economics, and the Review of Financial Studies.

Tobias Berg is Professor of Finance at Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. He was previously Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of Bonn and a visiting scholar at the Stern School of Business, New York University (NYU) as well as the European Central Bank. Tobias Berg works in the area of financial intermediation and corporate finance and focuses on risk management, bank regulation, and real effects of financial intermediation. His research was published in leading international journals such as the Journal of Finance, Review of Financial Studies, or Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis and he has presented at conferences such as the AFA, WFA, and EFA. He has won several best paper awards for his work, was ranked among the Top 10 economists in Germany in 2019, and has received the Review of Financial Studies Distinguished Referee Award in 2019.
